Participant information & consent

Workshop: Put a Real AI Agent to Work — IEEE ProComm 2026 (live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and self-paced online). Facilitators: Simon Wang (HKBU Language Centre, simonwang@hkbu.edu.hk) and Traci Nathans-Kelly (Cornell University).

What the study looks at

Alongside the workshop itself, we study how participants engage with agentic AI for teaching materials — specifically changes in understanding (what agentic AI is), direction (how you would use it), and interest (whether you want to take it further).

What taking part involves

Just doing the workshop: short interactive screens, driving a real AI agent to build a micro-lesson, quick knowledge checks, and brief reflections at the end. About 60–90 minutes.

Your data

Voluntary participation

Taking part is entirely voluntary. You may skip any question, stop at any time, and decline the research export at the end — none of this affects your access to the workshop or its materials.

How shared data is used

Consented anonymous sessions are analysed for a teaching case on transforming professional-communication materials with agentic AI, and may be quoted anonymously in that publication.

This page mirrors the consent step (screen 3.6) inside the workshop — that is where you make your actual choice, at the end, once you know exactly what your session contains.
